Glenn Cass, PE, CIH, CAC, REA - Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Cass is a Principal of the firm and has over 30 years of
engineering and environmental experience. His areas of expertise
include hazardous materials management, construction design documents
and specifications, and community noise impact assessments for EIR/EIS
support.
Mr. Cass is Program Manager for multiple As-Needed Environmental
Service contracts to the Port of Oakland, San Francisco Department of
Public Works, Oakland Public Works Agency, San Francisco Housing
Authority, and San Francisco Unified School District. Tasks completed
under these contracts include hazardous materials investigations; soil
and groundwater investigations and remediation; and remediation design
and management. Typical materials of concern at the client sites
include asbestos, lead-based paints, polychlorinated biphenyls,
trichloroethylene, metals, creosote-treated timbers, and petroleum
hydrocarbons.
Mr. Cass authored the original Master Hazardous Material
Specifications for the City and County of San Francisco, City of
Oakland, and San Francisco Unified School District, as well as several
updates to these documents. These specifications give the agencies
uniformity in the work conducted by multiple consultants and
contractors. In addition, the specifications provide a cost and time
savings by eliminating repetition of standard documents.
Mr. Cass has supervised the preparation of occupational and
environmental noise studies for industrial facilities such as the
Encinal Terminal (Alameda, California), Berkeley Asphalt and Concrete,
and several Browning-Ferris Industries recycling facilities. Mr. Cass
has prepared noise mitigation recommendations for large-scale
construction projects such as the San Francisco Main Library
Construction.
