The environmental consulting field is challenging and fast-paced, but it is not for everyone. If you enjoy problem-solving, meeting challenges, and advancing your professional skills, then you may be a good fit at a consulting firm such as SCA.
Consulting will give you a broad exposure to the environmental industry. For example, at SCA, we work for many different types of clients, including cities with historic buildings, high-rise office building owners, banks, the US military, housing developers, non-profit groups, and manufacturing companies. Our staff gain a breadth of experience while developing environmental solutions for these very different clients. In addition to diverse clients, SCA offers a wide variety of capabilities, allowing our staff to cross-train and understand the connections between such disciplines as industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, and underground storage tank management.
We provide a structured training program to our new employees to help them learn the basic skills to succeed. For our more experienced employees, SCA's supervisors prepare a customized career growth plan.
SCA's policy is to promote from within. Most of SCA's Project Managers and Technical Leaders began working with SCA immediately after college, and have been promoted and taken on greater responsibility over the years.
SCA encourages and supports our staff in obtaining advanced technical certifications. We maintain a library of study materials for certifications such as the Certified Industrial Hygienist, Registered Geologist, and Professional Engineer. In addition, SCA provides a salary increase to staff who pass the exams and obtain these certifications.
